Why Host a Book Discussion?

  • It’s fun! A great way to spend an evening with friends and ignite stimulating conversation.
  • Learn about an exotic country, its fascinating culture, and its heart-wrenching history.
  • Great appetizer RECIPES, straight from the restaurant of Amanda Prom, one the book’s main characters.
  • Discussions raise awareness for the plight of Cambodia, a country rebuilding from 3 decades of war, where half the population is under age 15.
  • You'll receive a DVD of the Grady Grossman School and Artwork from the students!
  • Author Kari Grady Grossman will CALL your event to answer your questions.
  • The author turned down a prominent book publisher in favor of distributing her book through book discussions so that proceeds benefit our education projects in Cambodia at the Grady Grossman School.

How to Host a Book Discussion

  1. Purchase your hardcover copy. Each copy comes with 10 postcards. Use these as invitations. Your readers can purchase the book here on our Web site for $24.95. Every copy is signed and numbered.

  2. View the Book Discussion Calendar to check Kari’s availability, then email Kari with the date, time, address, city, state and phone number of your group.

Don’t forget to tell us your time zone! We will enter it on our Calendar. All times on the Calendar reflect the Mountain Time Zone (Denver).

A Bones That Float Book Discussion Kit will be sent to groups of 10 or more participants:

  • 10 minute DVD of the Grady Grossman School project
  • A book discussion poster
  • Artwork for the host from the children attending the Grady Grossman School in Chrauk Tiek Village, Cambodia
